KAM PEK'S HISTORY

Situated in the heart of Macau on the west side of San Ma Lo, Kam Pek Market is a heritage building that holds a special place in the city's collective memory. Once home to the iconic Kam Pek Casino in the 1980s and 1990s, the three-storey landmark was converted into the Kam Pek Community Centre in 2021, offering a venue for performances and exhibitions by local groups and regional artists that enriched the cultural life of Macau's residents.

In 2023, SJM Resorts, S.A. launched the "Revitalisation Plan for San Ma Lo," breathing new life into this historic site. Renamed as Kam Pek Market, it has been transformed into a dynamic culinary and social destination. The space now showcases a curated selection of local SMEs, from emerging start-ups to authentic heritage brands, offering an exciting mix of dining and shopping options. Plans are underway to expand its offerings to include global cuisines, trendy lifestyle products, leisure activities, and cultural experiences, positioning it as the premier hub for food and culture in San Ma Lo.
